David will be speaking at a debate at University College Dublin’s Literary & Historical Society this Wednesday (23rd September 7.00pm) arguing against the proposition: There is No Reason Whatsoever to Believe in God. Michael Nugent of Atheist Ireland and Professor Arif Ahmed of Cambridge University will be arguing for the proposition. David will be joined by Gerard Casey, Professor of Philosophy at University College Dublin. Students will also be participating and there will be a time for questions and answers afterwards.
David will also be speaking at Sceptics Corner in Belfast (at Duncairn Cultural Arts Centre) on 18th October, asking if the doctrine of Jesus deity is the result of a Christian conspiracy. Readers might also be interested to know that tomorrow night (20th September 2015) barrister Stephen Shaw will explain why he believes that the Gospels are reliable.
